Richard Came to Visit

This week was a busy one for me.  First off I did not get the Sales Manger position at Nucor Cold Finish.  It was not good news but we keep plugging along.

Ruxin has really started to show who he is lately.  He giggles and laughs a lot now; it is just fun to see him growing up.  It is also nice because he is starting to sleep much better at night.

Like the title says Richard came to visit.  He was on his way to work in Las Vegas and stopped on his way to see us.  This was the first time he had met Nicole and Ruxin and it was the first time I have seen him in over 3 years.

We had a good visit and Ruxin even was fed by him.

The last few weeks

Two weeks ago, we had a very busy week. It was Warren’s drill weekend. Ruxin didn’t like that Daddy left Friday night. Warren is a big part of the nightly routine with Ruxin, and without him here, Ruxin was not about to sleep.

On Saturday night Warren and I went to the Military Ball in Idaho Falls. It was a lot of fun for the both of us to get out of the house and have a date night. Grandma Sandy was nice enough to watch Ruxin so that I could go. At the Ball a few couples had their babies their and it made Warren and I wish that we had brought him with us. We kind of like the little guy!

During the week Warren and I were getting things ready for Ruxins Baby Blessing that Sunday. He was six weeks old when we blessed him. His daddy did a great job. We also had a very special visitor that day. Cooper and Allie were very excited because they had not seen grandma Smith for more than a year. you could see it in their faces that they were happy.

Allie brought her baby doll to church and would do everything Grandma Smith would do ( ok she takes a baby doll everywhere since Ruxin came along).  Warren would ask how the baby was doing, and Allie would say “that she changed her baby and burped her but she was still fussy.”

We had a little dinner after the blessing. It was nice to have the family get together and visit.

This past week we had to take Grandma Smith to the airport. We didn’t want her to go, we thought about just making her stay with us! We cant wait to see her again with Grandpa Smith.

I also had an appointment with a Gynecologist/Oncologist specialist doctor in Riverton, UT. Talk about a really long drive for news that wasn’t what we/I wanted to here. Since Ruxin is a formula I was told that they could take out the fibroids that he had to fight for room with. Well the Doctor told me that I had to wait until the middle of December to have an MRI to determine which ones if any can be taken out so we still have the option to have more kids. So we are waiting for December.

Cooper and Allie came over this weekend. We love when they come, so does Ruxin. The kids love to play on the computers. We were all in the living room and the kids were playing games while Ruxin was laying on the floor. Well he could see them and hear them but for some reason they werent playing with him. So like all babies do, he starts to cough. Coop asked me whats wrong with him. I told them that he is trying to get their attention.

Later that day we order some pictures and went to pick them up. Cooper and Allie were talking about something. All I got out of the converstation was Allie Telling Cooper “that’s enough chatty chat chatting Cooper.” she says that funniest things. warren and I got a pretty good laugh from it.

We love to start fires. The smell and the cozy feeling, make for the perfect day. Since I have been with Warren, I have been told and have witnessed that the Smith boys like FIRE! Why throw something away when we came just burn it. Gee never would have thought about that.

Well I do believe that Ruxin will follow suit when it comes to flames. He loved looking at it. He was so excited when the fire was big. So all day Saturday and Sunday we had a fire going.

Some pictures of the kids playing with the computers.

One Month…

Last Sunday Ruxin turned 1 month old.  He is still so small but you look at his birthday pictures and you see how much he has changed.  He is sleeping better at night also. Nicole is getting ready to go back to work in a couple of weeks.  We found a really nice lady that is going to watch Ruxin.  We don’t like the idea of him going to day care but unfortunately we don’t have a choice.
We also had our first snow fall this week.  No much but it is a sign that winter is coming.  I spent Saturday winterizing the house.  The leaves are almost all out of the tree.  It was fun to be outside.  I love the fall of the year, it is my favorite time.  Nicole loves it also, we love to smell when people start their wood burning stoves for the winter.
On with this week in pictures…

Circumcision

Well this week was all about Ruxin and his – you know what!  He did alright and he slept just as much as he normally does.  We also had the kids for the weekend, the first full weekend since Ruxin came to live with us.  We love having them over and they love their little brother.

Nicole has been feeling much better.  She only has a little pain but nothing like before.  The was the first full week that Warren has had at work for a while also.  Don’t know if that is a good thing but we will take it.

We are also in search of child care for Ruxin.  Nicole goes back to work on the 12th of November because we are broke.  But all will go well with that.  We are confident that we can make it work.

But on with the pictures since that is what everyone wants anyway…

Allie loves her brother.  Melissa calls this Allie’s “Dr. Seuss” smile.  We would have to agree.

Allie loves feeding her brother.

Cooper is so great with Ruxin.  Allie, who doesn’t know her own strength, might be a little rough; well Cooper is there to remind her to handle Ruxin gently.  She is good and I love to watch Cooper with Ruxin.

Story time…Nicole was out feeding the dogs and Gracie hurt herself.  Nicole being the wonderful person that she is assumes that the “bump” into the tree by Gracie was going to kill her.  Warren is in the house taking care of Ruxin hears Nicole screaming from outside.  Warren thinking that Nicole had fallen into the hole falls through to China has to find a place to put Ruxin.  Going outside Warren finds Nicole HOLDING Gracie down.  Nothing wrong but you would think that Gracie leg would be detached from her body and laying next to her.  Nope all was just fine.  After rolling his eyes, Warren I went back into the house to see Cooper giving Ruxin his pacifier to help calm him down.  He is going to be a great brother.

First Weekend Away

After a long week of work Warren had drill in Rexburg, Idaho.  First weekend away since Ruxin was born.  Nicole has been feel much better.  The rash and hives have gone away and she is getting more energy to do more.

While Warren was at drill Nicole spent her weekend in Malad visiting with family and letting them have there time with Ruxin.  Everybody enjoyed having him over.  They joke that they are going to take Ruxin and give us visitation rights.

Many sleepless nights.  Yes he looks asleep now but put him down and the picture changes.

Ruxin pulls the funniest faces.  This ones is “I’m looking for food but nothing is coming to me.”

Gall Bladder and Marsi

Well is was quite a week.  It started with Ruxin not wanting to sleep at all and ended with the removal of a gall bladder and a visit from Ruxin’s cousin.
Nicole had been having issues with her tummy and finally on Thursday afternoon Nicole’s pain got worse.  We went into the emergency room and they determined through x-ray and ultra-sound that Nicole had gall stones.  Nicole was then scheduled for surgery the next day.  She did great.  The surgery went well and she was released on Saturday morning.
Sunday Endrit, Rachel and Marsi came to see us.  Rachel spent her time with Ruxin and Endrit spent his time playing games on Warren’s iPad.  Marsi played with everything.  She is such a happy girl.  She is also huge, she is a cutie.
Warren also spent time making grape juice from grape that he picked with a co-worker and the co-workers dad.  We love grape juice.

Home At Last

IMG_0435
We made it home this week.  It is nice to sleep in our own beds.  Ruxin has had some good nights and some bad nights.  The first night was a little rough but he has been getting so much better.
Nicole is starting to feel better.  She has been taking walks to the end of the street and back to help get her back in shape.
Warren had meetings all week.  So between work and family it was full.
Cooper and Allie came over on Saturday and had a good time with Ruxin.  Allie said that he has decided that she likes Ruxin now.  She is getting huge also.  Cooper finally got his birthday presents so he spent must of his time playing with his new lego stuff.
Nicole’s mom came down a couple of days and made us some lasagna and oatmeal cake.  Misty and Brex also came down to see Ruxin.  It was fun to see Brex with Ruxin.
