This is for Trish!!

Sorry for the long time sine I have posted. We have had a lot going on but really I just haven’t sat down to write a blog. I will try to be better about keeping the blog updated.

On February 6th 2012 we found out the we were expecting out little man! Since that day we have had quite the journey to get Ruxin here and for me to start feeling better. The first weekend in May I started to have a lot of pain. So I went to my doctor that monday. They ran a lot of test to figure out why I didn’t feel well. I spent a few days in the hospital. On the second day we figured out I had uterine fibroids, they are genetic and my mom had the same issue without the pain. I was told that I had one the size of a softball and one other that was a little smaller. I ended up being classified as a high risk pregnancy.

I have an amazing husband! Warren drove me to all of my doctor appointments in ogden with the really book smart doctors and was always at my regular appointments.

I had another hospital stay in the middle of august while Warren was at drill. I had really great doctors then. It helps when the doctors have served in the military because they are so willing to help in any way they can.

We had Ruxin a 3 weeks early. When the doctor did the c-section they pulled out the softball size fibroid and Warren was able to see what it looked like. Since May I have had pain from the fibroids. In November I was referred to a specialty doctor to decide the best way to handle the pain and the fibroids. I had been told since may that fibroids would get smaller after 266 weeks, after I had the baby, 12 weeks post partum etc. This doctor had me have an MRI done. We went back in December a few days before Christmas and the doctor told us the fibroids did not shrink and that I had 9 of them! Gosh no wonder I hadn’t felt very well. After a long discussion we decided the best thing was to have at least the one that was causing all the pain taken out.

On January 31, 2013 I went to have a multiple myomectomy. The doctor did a midline incision and was able to take out 4 of the 9 fibroids. Those four were on the outside of the uterus!  It means no scaring on the inside of the uterus.

I spent 4 days in the hospital. The doctor told me that I need to stay home for at least 4 weeks but 6 would be better. I felt so much better after the surgery that I went back to work the next week!

My mom was great and took Ruxin for a few days while I was in the hospital. I was really said that he wasn’t with me. But I was not all there the  first two days. Warren brought him down to see me on Sunday.
