Our big guy

Where has the time gone. I have missed posting the last few months of Ruxin monthly pictures. I guess that is what I get for not updating the blog sooner. Ruxin is getting so big. I just love his smiles. It is so much fun to get him to giggle. There is just something about a babys laugh that is so contagious to me that I cant help but laugh myself.

A few weeks ago I got really tired of trying to fix his hair so I decided that I was going to give him a hair cut. When Ruxin was born he had a full head of hair. Other mothers always ask me if his hair fell out. Nope none of his hair fell out. So we gave him a hair cut at 6 months old.

I have been able to take Ruxin to work with me a few times. Everyone absolutely loves him and his Hair and Eyes. He makes my days better. I have to say that he is the best office helper a mom could ask for!!

Job Promotion!

The division of Nucor that Warren works for had a job posting for a District Sales Manager for the west coast region. Warren applied for the job and was prompted on February 17th 2013. He has the opportunity to travel to California, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia. Warren has really enjoyed traveling. He has some really great clients that he likes to visit.

We really like to watch baseball. (I have started liking it more since Warren took me to a game last year). Since Warren is in areas that have baseball teams he has been able to go to a few games. He also stops and takes pictures of the  different stadiums.

We really miss him when is not home with us.  When Ruxin has a bad night we call up daddy to help the little guy relax. It is so fun to watch Ruxin, whenever Warren talks he stops and just listens to his dad talk.

Warren drives through very beautiful country. I wish that I could go with him.

We are excited about the promotion and were it will take us.

This is for Trish!!

Sorry for the long time sine I have posted. We have had a lot going on but really I just haven’t sat down to write a blog. I will try to be better about keeping the blog updated.

On February 6th 2012 we found out the we were expecting out little man! Since that day we have had quite the journey to get Ruxin here and for me to start feeling better. The first weekend in May I started to have a lot of pain. So I went to my doctor that monday. They ran a lot of test to figure out why I didn’t feel well. I spent a few days in the hospital. On the second day we figured out I had uterine fibroids, they are genetic and my mom had the same issue without the pain. I was told that I had one the size of a softball and one other that was a little smaller. I ended up being classified as a high risk pregnancy.

I have an amazing husband! Warren drove me to all of my doctor appointments in ogden with the really book smart doctors and was always at my regular appointments.

I had another hospital stay in the middle of august while Warren was at drill. I had really great doctors then. It helps when the doctors have served in the military because they are so willing to help in any way they can.

We had Ruxin a 3 weeks early. When the doctor did the c-section they pulled out the softball size fibroid and Warren was able to see what it looked like. Since May I have had pain from the fibroids. In November I was referred to a specialty doctor to decide the best way to handle the pain and the fibroids. I had been told since may that fibroids would get smaller after 266 weeks, after I had the baby, 12 weeks post partum etc. This doctor had me have an MRI done. We went back in December a few days before Christmas and the doctor told us the fibroids did not shrink and that I had 9 of them! Gosh no wonder I hadn’t felt very well. After a long discussion we decided the best thing was to have at least the one that was causing all the pain taken out.

On January 31, 2013 I went to have a multiple myomectomy. The doctor did a midline incision and was able to take out 4 of the 9 fibroids. Those four were on the outside of the uterus!  It means no scaring on the inside of the uterus.

IMG_0850   having the tube taken out hurt the worst. Only a few of the staples hurt.

I spent 4 days in the hospital. The doctor told me that I need to stay home for at least 4 weeks but 6 would be better. I felt so much better after the surgery that I went back to work the next week!

My mom was great and took Ruxin for a few days while I was in the hospital. I was really said that he wasn’t with me. But I was not all there the  first two days. Warren brought him down to see me on Sunday.

The freezing Rain could not keep us from seeing Grandpa!

We have not had a lot going since Christmas. We have just been trying to stay close to home. it has been really nice to relax and spend some quiet time with the family.

We have loved to watch Ruxin grow. We took him to his 4 month appointment on Monday. He is 12 1/2 lbs and 25 inches. He is like his daddy were his likes the morning and will talk and talk and likes to be asleep early. He loves to stand up while he holds your thumbs to be big and strong. He does not like tummy time but is slowly getting better at it. Ruxin is still sleeping great through the night. I usually only get up once with him. On the nights were he wakes up twice I have Warren get up with him after 4am and it never fails the moment that Ruxin sees he daddy walk in the room he starts to giggle ( he thinks that it is time to play). He will be a daddy’s boy but loves to cuddle with his mommy at night ( which makes his mommy very happy).

IMG_0824This is his 4 month picture!

I have a lot of time on my hands at work so I crocheted him a little doggie blanket. He loves to chew on it! Because we think he is teething Sad smile.

Travis is one of my boss at work and he asked if I would crochet him a beard. I was finally able to figure out the pattern and did make him one, but I didn’t get a picture of if. it is pretty cool looking. Most people laughed at him at first but now they have changed their tune and want one to keep their faces warm.

IMG_0817We were all sitting down stairs watching Brave!. Ruxin is starting to watch things on the tv more. He loves when things move.

IMG_0807He rolls from side to side but not all the way over. He thinks he is big enough to stand on his own. Every time he is laying down he tries to sit up. it is pretty cute to see him try to do things.

IMG_0812We were able to be apart of Brex’s 4th birthday! He was so excited to see everyone there.

Grandpa Smith come to visit us before he helped Aunt Rachel and Uncle Endrit pack to move. We were afraid his flight might be cancelled because of the freezing rain but lucky for us it wasn’t. Ruxin loved to just watch grandpa and listen to him talk. It was fun to see Ruxi’s reaching to Grandpa.

While Grandpa was here he was able to see where I work at. Travis and Zack showed Warren and Stan around the plant. They were able to see how they press the bales and ship them out.

Warren and Grandpa were able to go get Cooper and Allie early on Friday. I don’t think that they left his side for very long. They looked at the computer, And Grandpa showed them were his house was at in Missouri.

IMG_0836While Stan was with us were took the opportunity to take a 3 generation picture!

Another awesome Allie moment. I love the things she does.

On Saturday after Grandpa had left and we all made it home ( Warren from helping Rachel and Endrit move, the kids and I wen to Coop’s basketball game). The kids were down stairs playing and Allie comes up and asked is she could have some carrots to eat. Dad told her that she could but it would have to be at the table, that she could not take them downstairs. I put this rule in place because most of the time the food doesn’t get eaten and will be left down there or the sip it everywhere. So back to the cute little Miss Allie Mae. So with being to she could have the carrots she would just have to have them on the table….

IMG_0840This is what we found when we went to go downstairs to tell the kids good night. I love how Allie can always bring a smile to your face.

IMG_0838Allie wanted to make sure that she was able to have a picture with Grandpa to. She wanted all the girls to have a picture with grandpa but we were not able to get that one. The only time she has a normal smile and not a Dr. Seuss smile is when she is with grandpa!

It has been really fun to watch Allie and Cooper grow the last few months with Ruxin. Coop is very protective of him!. He doesn’t let Allie do to much with Ruxin if he is not right they to save him. It is pretty fun to watch. Ruxin will just stare at the kids when they do anything. He looks at Coop the most.

IMG_0839Ruxin loves to have Coop help him be BIG and STRONG!

Allie the last few months has been playing with dolls at lot. She always puts them in Ruxin’s swing or bouncy chair. She tells us the her baby’s name. It is always a new name because she forgets what she called them the first time. She tells how old her baby is which also always changes because she forgets. Coop will be playing with Ruxin and she brings her doll and will do the same thing. She tells/does to her dolls whatever we do with Her little brother. It is really fun to watch her.

Today we had so much snow that fell, we had to leave to drop them off early Sad smile We meet Melissa half way in Malad. It took us an hour each way! When we finally got home and it stopped snowing we went outside to watch the dogs run through it. Ok we really just want to gauge  how deep the snow was to have Bert run through it. It was so deep the you could barely see him as he ran up. The only reason the you could she him was because Gracie had already made some tracks for him. Well the Warren decided to throw him in the snow. Poor Bert! It would cover him every time and he had a hard time getting back to where he wasn’t covered because Gracie would have to got after him. It was a lot of fun to watch. Then I was walking with Ruxin in the back yard and slide, the little guy was a little scared because the dogs come running to play. We went in after that. Smile

Now we are just trying to get things ready for the next few crazy weeks.
